Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2025/09/16

This Privacy Policy explains how Queen’s Gems (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with naturalgems.ca (the “Site”) and our services, including the Five Elements (Yinyang – Wu Xing) feature (the “Services”). If you have questions, email info@naturalgems.ca.

1) Overview

  • We design the Services to minimize data collection. For the Five Elements feature, personal details you type are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
  • For general browsing and online shopping, a limited amount of information may be processed by our ecommerce/hosting platform and other service providers to operate the Site (for example, checkout, shipping, security, support, and performance measurement). We seek to work with providers that apply appropriate protections.
  • We do not sell personal information.

2) Five Elements (Yinyang – Wu Xing)

  • Inputs. Personal details you type for the tool, such as birth date, birth time, and time zone.
  • Processing. Performed entirely on your device using client-side libraries. We do not receive these inputs.
  • Storage/Transmission. None by us. The tool may store a time-zone label in your browser’s localStorage for convenience; you can delete it in your browser settings.
  • Use. The tool is for inspiration only. It is not medical, financial, or legal advice and is not used for marketing or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
  • URLs and logs. The tool aims to avoid sending inputs in URLs. In rare error states, transient traces could appear in ephemeral logs controlled by infrastructure providers. Such traces, if any, are not repurposed.

3) Site use and online shopping (in general)

When you browse the Site or place an order, certain information may be processed so the Site can function, orders can be fulfilled, and we can respond to you. This may include device and usage data (such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed and timestamps) and the details you enter for checkout and fulfillment. Payment processing is handled by independent payment processors that use industry-standard security; we do not store full payment card numbers.

4) Cookies and similar technologies

We may use strictly necessary cookies (security, cart, checkout), functional cookies (such as language/region), and performance/analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage and improve the Site. Where required by law, we will obtain consent. You can manage cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work without certain cookies.

5) How information is used

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Site and Services.
  • To fulfill orders, handle returns/repairs, and provide support when you contact us.
  • To protect the Site, prevent fraud and misuse, and comply with legal obligations.
  • To communicate with you about your orders or requests. Marketing messages are sent only where permitted; you can unsubscribe at any time.

6) Sharing

We share information only as necessary with service providers (for example, hosting/ecommerce, payment, shipping, email/support tools, analytics, and security/CDN) who are engaged to operate parts of the Services and are expected to protect the information they process. We may also share information if required by law or to protect rights, property, and safety, or as part of a business transition consistent with this Policy.

7) Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law (for example, tax and accounting). We do not retain the personal details you enter into the Five Elements tool.

8) Security and responsibility

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures such as transport encryption, access controls, and monitoring. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and devices. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss, disclosure, or unauthorized access resulting from your own actions, device compromise, independent incidents at third-party providers despite appropriate safeguards, or events beyond our reasonable control. Where required, we will notify you and the relevant authorities and take reasonable steps to mitigate harm.

9) International transfers

Service providers may process information in jurisdictions other than yours. We use appropriate transfer mechanisms and safeguards as applicable.

10) Children

The Services are not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can delete it.

11) Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, obtain a copy (portability), withdraw consent, and opt out of marketing. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Contact info@naturalgems.ca.

12) Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. Where Global Privacy Control is detected and applicable by law, we treat it as an opt-out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising.

13) Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after an update signifies acceptance.
