Geode Earrings Natural Crystal #3012

Geode: A spherical, often hollow, mineral-lined cavity in rock. When lava is brought rapidly to the surface, the reduced pressure causes gasses in the hot rock to expand and form cavities within the solidifying rock. Later, mineral-laden water moving through the rock may deposit new minerals in these cavities to form geodes.

Geodes commonly contain concentric layers of agate, a form of quartz made up of tiny crystals.
